DANCE GROUP RULES

Be Courteous to Others

We want all to feel welcome dancing with us. We expect participants to be respectful and friendly to all who join.

Wear Sensible Shoes

Heels above two inches are difficult to dance in and are not recommended. Some libraries have slippery floors and are better with higher traction shoes. Other rooms have floors that you will want less traction on. While you are growing familiar with the locations we frequent, you may want to bring two pairs of shoes so you can pick whichever option works best for the specific floor texture.

Wear Sensible Clothing to Practice

We will have dress rehearsals when there is an upcoming event, but most weeks, people come casually dressed. Feel free to dress up, but be aware that costumes can be hot to dance in.

Children Must Be Accompanied

Though our dances are easy to learn, they can be challenging for young children. All children must be accompanied by a participating adult.

Don't Stress About Perfection

Remember you don't have to do the dances perfectly. Improvement comes with practice. Even our veteran dancers cause occasional train wrecks, and that's okay. Learn to laugh at your mistakes and move forward.

Dance at Your Own Risk

Like any physical activity, dancing can lead to accidents. Clockwork and Gears Vintage Dancing is not liable for any injuries that may occur during practices or events.

Have Fun!

What is the point if you aren't enjoying yourself?
